Featured Acts: Dead Leaves The first cold wintery Saturday of a new Millennium, that's right Jan. 2000. A thin crowd and a band called BEAD. What I learned several hours later was the standard by which I would evolve my beliefs in bands too. This was only the first of many shows for Bead here. Now known as DEAD LEAVES I can say LOOK OUT MUSIC WORLD! Kris, Jay, Rich and Jamie - four dedicated, tightly knit musicians who have been driving themselves show by show. I will not try to use niche words or musical jargon to describe my thoughts in lieu of my ignorance in that area, but I do have my thoughts. From the deep melodic heavy tones that captivate your attention and lull you along, to the rip your heart out pounding sound, these guys give you their all. After many a show, a few moshpit bumps, and some good times with these guys, it has become clear to me that these four young gentlemen will be a band to reckoned with in the near future. Due to the bands passion and belief in itself, they have made great strides in the past year or two. Witness the transition from Bead to Dead Leaves, their awesome website, their management structure that handles booking, publicity and promotions and their new record company, Solution6 Records, which they formed in conjuction with the POPTART MONKEYS. I tip my hat to you all, and I know the people behind this group are as dedicated as well. Truly this band is in step all the way. Stept On Well, where do I start. The newest update from their website www.SteptOn.com states "The bad boys of rock" and baby do they rock! Yeah! Without a doubt these four guys bring it straight at you. Chuck (vocals), Adam (bass), Matt (guitar) and, Jim (drums). From the first time these guys played at this club it was evident they had an impact on everyone. This band is surely on the cutting edge of success and is apparent when you take a listen to their latest CD release "lonely." Chuck demonstrates his ability to go from a to z, top to bottom all in step (just a little pun) with his band mates. To watch and listen to the musicians in this band is truly pulsating. The lyrical expressions in their music are as captivating as the reality they transcend. SO PAY ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!!! These guys not only fever you with their original music they also grip you with many of today's alternative hits with such perfection its hard not to love every minute they're on stage. Stept On has played all across the state, as well as up and down the East coast. They have performed with national acts on so many different occasions its too numerous for us to list. In ending we ask anyone who has read this to call your local rock stations and request Stept On music and support these guys whenever you can. Their ultimate success can be your success in seeing this great band reach the next level. Thanks all P.S. These guys will be here soon! - Jeff Gunner A band from the Wilkes-Barre area who has played here in support of WELL OF SOULS and plays all across the northeastern part of PA. Playing cover music from the hits of the 80's like the Scorpions, AC/DC, Ozzy, and much, much more of the classic rock of yester-years. |
