Ok, bands, here's a way to explain this conference. You know that there are 320+ performances on some 25+ stages over 3 nights. Those are the showcases. During the day, there's the conference. Basically, during the day on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, on the 2nd Floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, there's a whole bunch of music industry people for you to learn from and talk to. Bill McGathy, the manager of 3 Doors Down, Chevelle, etc. is one of those people. Would you like the manager of 3 Doors Down, Chevelle, etc. to be your manager? Sure you would. Now, it's unlikely that In De Groot Entertainment will want to manage all the performers on the 2nd Floor of the Crowne Plaza. But if In De Groot doesn't want to manage you, don't fret, there are many, many other music industry professionals that you will benefit from interacting with and learning from. There is a list of those people on the MMC8 website. Right now 52 speakers/panelists/mentors are listed there. If your band applied to showcase at MMC, whether you were accepted or not, you can get into the conference for the discounted rate of $55 until June 10.
