-------------------------------------------- L O C A L L O W D O W N …this week in Philadelphia… July 19- 25, 2000 -------------------------------------------- Hello localmusic fans! This is an enormous week for Hip-Hop fans in Philly. The Up In Smoke Tour will be making a stop at the FU Spectrum. Check out Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eninem, Kurupt, and many more as they prove that Hip-Hop artists can pull off a mega-event. On a smaller scale, but just as impressive, the Spitkicker Tour with De La Soul and Common will go down at the Electric Factory on the 20th. Don’t forget, the third edition of the localmusic.com sponsored event, the Artist Den takes place at Bar Noir on the Monday the 24th. This time out, we’ve got Philly singer/songwriting legend Ben Arnold and Thias, the lead singer of Myrh. This show promises an evening of enticing music with a great vibe. The Philly site is just packed with features for your viewing pleasure. The Buzz will keep you up to date on all newsworthy events in the local scene. Once again, we’ve got complete coverage of the last Artist Den including Real Audio and Video of the entire show. Check out our look at last month's Fez 2000 event, which includes an interview with Guster. Finally, we have a review of Cincotta’s debut CD. If for any reason, you should get the urge to jack a Police car this week...fight it off and see some live music instead. Stephen M.
